It's been 6 months since I've posted anything. Sorry about that! Let's get you up-to-speed on Miss Madeline. She's almost 16-months. Walking (really, running) everywhere! Working on her 9th tooth. 22 pounds. Hair is coming in fast & furious. Some of her latest & favorite words are: happy, Beau, potato, hi, juice, no, cheese (kinda), apple. Yes, most of her words are regarding food...that should give you some sort of idea of exactly how much this child eats. She has a reputation at school for being an "eater". She also has a reputation at school for being happy...which is by far her favorite word right now. Hence the video of her screaming "happy" over and over again: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3YF9jTY-cwY
She loves to give kisses. Oh, and looks like she inherited one thing from me...curly hair. Now that her hair is growing in, it's getting curly. So cute! She may have inherited everything else from her dad, but this is the one proof I have that she is mine. I'll take it!

A fun and busy October
Where to begin...so much to update! Madeline attended her first birthday party at Leapin Lizards in Decatur. It's an indoor bouncy playground for kids. She had fun going into the bouncy's with Brandon and me, but truly her favorite part of the party was crawling everywhere and following the kids running around. Check out the pics we took of the party online on our gallery.
Just wrapped up Halloween. Couldn't keep Madeline up past 7:15pm. However, she did get to see 2 trick-or-treaters! Yes, she was stylin in her costume. We took so many pictures of her in her Halloween costume, check out the "Happy Halloween" album.
Her Halloween started on Friday where she attended her school's costume parade. She had fun looking at all the kids dressed up. We took a picture of her with her friend who was dressed up in a teddy bear costume. Unfortunately, Madeline did not seem to realize someone was in the costume because she kept tugging on the costume. I'm sure she thought it was her teddy bear. Note to self: don't dress your kid in a costume that other kids want to grab, hug, tug or hit. :)
On the negative side, Madeline just went through her first double ear infection...not fun! But she's much better now...and was better in time for Halloween!
Again, so many pictures these last couple of weeks, so check them out on our gallery.
Happy Halloween everyone!

New update!
Well, she's officially standing on her own now. She can get to her own 2 feet in the middle of the room by herself. Now we are just waiting for the day when she starts to make those first steps. Wow...we are soooo not ready for a walking toddler yet!
We have a few videos below of her playing the piano on her own (yes, you read that right), standing, and more standing. The yellow balloon you see in her hand, the one she refuses to let go of, is what she was given at lunch today at a local restaurant. Oh, and check out our pictures on our website...she went on her first hike today with the family (Beau included!). Weather was fantastic (sunny, 50's) so we had to get out and enjoy. Brandon calls our hikes our "church". After all, we are outside appreciating what God created!
Enjoy the videos! And please excuse the mis-matched outfit on the first 3 videos. :)

So many visits!
We have had several guests come to see/stay with Madeline this week. Uncle Jay stopped in for the weekend. Granny Shirlz came for the week. And tomorrow, friend's from Florida will be stopping in for the evening with their 8-month-old daughter, Claire. Madeline & Claire will be going to the Georgia Aquarium, so stay tuned for pics! In the meantime, check out the online photo journal to see all the pics from Uncle Jay and Granny's time in ATL.
No big development news except that again we are waiting for her to walk at any moment. She is starting to support her weight on her legs and stand in a sqatted position...guess it's only a matter of time until she stands up completely and makes those first steps. Yikes! Once that happens, there goes Brandon & my time to sit down or relax!

9-month check up
We just got back from Madeline's pediatrician. She had her 9-month check up, and the 2nd of her flu shots series. Ready for the stats on her weight & height?? Ready for it? Yes, shockingly enough she registered in the 90th percentile for height (29.5 inches). Hmmmm...wonder who she gets that from???
Anyway, she weighed in at 19.5 pounds. That's about the 50th percentile. A clean bill of health from Dr. Allen...says she's healthy, and just where she should be at this age. Yay! She did encourage us to start giving her soft table foods. Of course, Madeline's mom (that would be me!) has an unnatural fear of her choking. So basically Brandon is having to slip her solid foods when I'm not looking!
After the doctor's visit we walked over to Trader Joe's and introduced a few soft solids to her (and to get me more comfortable with it!). Turns out she loves some monterey jack cheese and organic pumpkin pancakes. So we loaded our cart with butternut squash, fingerling potatoes, cheese tortellini, applesauce and other great solid foods for Mads. Thank goodness we moved where there's a Trader Joe's nearby!
We are off to N. Georgia this weekend...more to come!
